HAZOP

Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP)

HAZOP is a systematic and structured technique used to identify potential hazards and operational issues in complex systems or processes. It is commonly applied in the design and operational phases of oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial facilities.

The purpose of HAZOP is to review each part of a process or system to detect deviations from design intent and evaluate their possible consequences on safety, environment, and operability.

  • Guide Words: Using predefined terms to explore possible deviations (e.g., "No Flow", "More Pressure")
